Col Smith - Garden and Building Supply
Col Smith Garden & Building supply was established in 1959 on the corner of Doncaster & Elgar Rds, Doncaster. Colin Smith, the founder of the business, soon built a loyal customer base on the motto "Good Measure & Good Service".
In 1981 Col sold the business to Andrew Halliday, Harry Heyblok joined Andrew soon afterwards and they are still, with their sons, running the business today under the same principles established by Col 49 years ago.
In 1998 the business moved from its original site to the corner of Andersons Creek Rd & Blackburn Rds, East Doncaster. Here, with a bigger yard, the business has been able to grow to meet more of our customers needs.
In 2004 Col Smith Garden & Building Supply purchased the former Manfreds Garden Supply in Beech st, Nunawading. With this second yard we have further committed the business to expand its range of products & services.
Today Col Smith Garden & Building Supply employs over 25 people, with 16 vehicles ranging from tipper utes up to tandem Trucks. Our delivery service extends all over Metropolitan Melbourne.
Col Smith in Nunawading now stocks a large range of bluestone for paving and construction. With over 1500 square meters in stock and facilities to cut to size, hone, bevel and bull-nose our range of stone, our enthusiastic staff are equipped to cater for your next project.
